[ Proclamation No. 773, August 28, 1961 ]

DECLARING WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 30, 1961, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF BULACAN

WHEREAS, Marcelo H. del Pilar, our hero and patriot who used the noun de plume of “Plaridel” in his struggles in Spain to obtain reforms for the Philippines during the Spanish regime, was born in Bulacan, Bulacan, on August 30, 1850; and

WHEREAS, the people of Bulacan desire that they be given full opportunity to celebrate Plaridel’s birthday with fitting ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Carlos P. Garcia, President of the Philippines; by virtue of the powers vested in me by section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Wednesday, August 30, 1961, as a special public holiday in the province of Bulacan.
