[ Proclamation No. 759, June 13, 1961 ]

DECLARING MONDAY, JUNE 19, 1961, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY

WHEREAS, the centennial birthday of Jose Rizal, our national hero, falls on June 19, 1961;

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the people be given full opportunity to celebrate the day with appropriate ceremonies in keeping with his ideals and teachings;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Carlos P. Garcia, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Monday, June 19, 1961, as a special public holiday.
