MALACAÑAN PALACE MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES [ Proclamation No. 754, May 24, 1961 ] DECLARING THURSDAY, MAY 25, 1961, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCES OF SULU, COTABATO, ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE, ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR, DAVAO, LANAO DEL NORTE, LANAO DEL SUR, BUKIDNON, PALAWAN, AGUSAN AND SURIGAO, AND IN THE CITIES OF ZAMBOANGA, BASILAN, DAVAO, ILIGAN, MARAWI, BUTUAN, AND COTABATO In connection with the Muslim National Feast of Eid-U-Adha, I, Carlos P. Garcia, President of the Philippines, pursuant to the authority vested in me by section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Thursday, May 25, 1961, as a special public holiday in the provinces of Sulu, Cotabato, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Davao, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Bukidnon, Palawan, Agusan, and Surigao, and in the cities of Zamboanga, Basilan, Davao, Iligan, Marawi, Butuan, and Cotabato. Muslim officials and employees of the government, both national and local, performing their duties and functions outside of the provinces and cities above stated, shall be exempted from duty during this feast day which, for purposes of this proclamation, shall be considered as a special public holiday for said officials and employees in their respective stations.1aшphi1 IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
