BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES

[ Proclamation No. 742, March 22, 1961 ]

DECLARING MARCH 23 OF EVERY YEAR AS WORLD METEOROLOGICAL DAY.

WHEREAS, the Executive Committee of the World Meteorological Organization has approved the establishment of an Annual World Meteorological Day;

WHEREAS, the said committee has further decided that the World Meteorological Day should be celebrated on March 23, this being the anniversary of the day in 1950 when the World Meteorological Convention formally come into force; and

WHEREAS, the Philippines is a member-state of the World Meteorological Organizations

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CARLOS P. GARCIA, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare March 23 of every year as World Meteorological Day and designate the Weather Bureau to take charge of its celebreation.
