MALACAÑAN PALACE MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES [ Proclamation No. 740, March 17, 1961 ] DECLARING SATURDAY, MARCH 18, 1961, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCES OF AGUSAN, BUKIDNON, COTABATO, DAVAO, LANAO DEL NORTE, LANAO DEL SUR, PALAWAN, SULU, SURIGAO, ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE, ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR AND IN THE CITIES OF BASILAN, BUTUAN, COTABATO, DAVAO, ILIGAN, MARAWI, AND ZAMBOANGA In connection with the Muslim National Feast of Eid-ul-Fitr, I, Carlos P. Garcia, President of the Philippines, pursuant to the authority vested in me by section 30 of Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Saturday, March 18, 1961, as a special public holiday for Muslim population only, in the provinces of Agusan, Bukidnon, Cotabato, Davao, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Palawan, Sulu, Surigao, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, and in the cities of Basilan, Butuan, Cotabato, Davao, Iligan, Marawi, and Zamboanga. Muslim officials and employees of the government, both national and local, performing their duties and functions outside of the provinces and cities above stated, shall be exempted from duty during this feast day which, for purposes of this proclamation, shall be considered as a special public holiday for said officials and employees in their respective stations.1aшphi1 IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
