[ Proclamation No. 739, March 15, 1961 ]

DECLARING FRIDAY, MARCH 17, 1961, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF ZAMBALES AND IN THE CITY OF CEBU

Whereas, the fourth anniversary of the sudden and untimely death in Cebu City of the late President Ramon Magsaysay falls on March 17, 1961; and

Whereas, the people of his native province of Zambales and the City of Cebu request that they be given full opportunity to observe the said anniversary with appropriate ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Carlos P. Garcia, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code do hereby declare Friday, March 17, 1961, as a special public holiday in the province of Zambales and in the City of Cebu.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
