DECLARING WEDNESDAY, APRIL 2, 1958, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCES OF BULACAN AND BATAAN

WHEREAS, the second day of April is the birthday of Francisco Balagtas, “Prince of Filipino Poets”; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the people of Bulacan, his birthplace, and Bataan, where he lived and died, be given full opportunity to celebrate his birthday;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CARLOS P. GARCIA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Wednesday, April 2, 1958, as a special public holiday in the provinces of Bulacan and Bataan.1âшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 28th day of March, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and fifty-eight, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the twelfth.
