[ PROCLAMATION NO. 438, August 22, 1957 ]

DECLARING THURSDAY, AUGUST 29, 1957, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF SAN JUAN, PROVINCE OF RIZAL

WHEREAS, the anniversary of the battle of Pinaglabanan between the Spanish and Revolutionary Forces, which is an important event in our struggle for freedom, falls on August 29, 1957;

WHEREAS, said historical event is of special significance to the residents of the municipality of San Juan, province of Rizal, where it took place; and

WHEREAS, the people of San Juan, Rizal, desire to celebrate the occasion with fitting ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CARLOS P. GARCIA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Thursday, August 29, 1957, as a special public holiday in the municipality of San Juan, province of Rizal;
