[ PROCLAMATION NO. 388, February 16, 1957 ]

DECLARING TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 1957, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF PAMPANGA

WHEREAS, Proclamation No. 128 dated May 4, 1949, as amended by Proclamation No. 374 dated December 26,1956, declared February 19 of every year as Jose Abad Santos Day to honor the memory of a great jurist, patriot, and martyr; and

WHEREAS, the people of Pampanga, his birthplace, request that they be given full opportunity to celebrate the day with appropriate ceremonies;

NOW THEREFORE, I, RAMON MAGSAYSAY, President of the Philippines, pursuant to the authority vested in me by Section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Tuesday, February 19, 1957, as a special public holiday in the province of Pampanga.
