[ Proclamation No. 796, December 22, 1941 ]

MODIFYING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE KAOLIN RESERVATION ESTABLISHED IN SIRUMA, CAMARINES SUR, UNDER PROCLAMATION NO. 583 DATED JUNE 10, 1933

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council Siruma, Camarines Sur, in its Resolution No. 19, series of 1941, has petitioned for the release from Kaolin Reservation established under Proclamation No. 583 dated June 10, 1933, of a certain portion thereof on the grounds that about two-thirds of the entire area of the municipality of Siruma, province of Camarines Sur, is within the said reservation and that the remaining unreserved portion is inadequate for the growing needs of the increasing inhabitants of the said municipality for agricultural purposes;

WHEREAS, according to the findings of the Bureau of Mines concurred in by the Secretary of Agriculture and Commerce, a big portion of said reservation can be released for agricultural purposes and a small area outside the reservation containing valuable kaolin deposits may be included therein without affecting the purposes for which the said reservation was established;

WHEREAS, under the provision of Section 11 of Commonwealth Act No. 187, otherwise known as the Mining Act, the President of the Philippines may, with the concurrence of the National Assembly, by proclamation, alter or modify the boundaries of a mineral reserve;

NOW, THEREFOR, I, MANUEL L. QUEZON, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby alter and amend the boundaries of the Kaolin Reservation established under Proclamation No. 583 dated June 10, 1933, subject to existing private rights, if any there be, so as to make them as follows:

Beginning at a point which is S. 88 deg. 00’E., 2506.53 meters more or less, from Triangulation Station “Sir” of the U. S. S. & G. S., thence

Due East, 5776.92 meters, more or less, thence Due South, 4978.42 meters, more or less, thence Due West, 5776.92 meters, more or less, thence Due North, 4978.42 meters, more or less, to point of beginning.

Containing an approximate area of 2875.9934 hectares.

Bounded by north latitudes 13 degrees 58 minutes 25 seconds and 14 degrees 1 minute 7 seconds and east longitudes 123 degrees 17 minutes 22.5 seconds and 123 degrees 20 minutes 35 seconds.

NOTE: To be technically surveyed later on.

This proclamation shall not take effect until it is concurred in by a resolution of the National Assembly or the Congress of the Philippines, as the case may be, duly adopted for the purpose.1aшphi1
