[ Proclamation No. 756, September 30, 1941 ]

CHANGING THE DATE OF THE ANNUAL OBSERVANCE OF “MADE-IN-THE-PHILIPPINES PRODUCTS WEEK” FROM AUGUST 17 TO 23, TO THE PERIOD FROM FEBRUARY 14 TO 20, BEGINNING WITH THE YEAR NINETEEN HUNDRED AND FORTY-TWO.

WHEREAS, by virtue of Proclamation No. 76, dated August 12, 1936, the President of the Philippines designated and proclaimed the week from August seventeenth to twenty-third of each year, as “Made-in-the-Philippines Products Week,” urging all the people of this country to observe it accordingly;

WHEREAS, experience has shown that during the past several years the observance of this national event has often been marred by inclement weather in view of the fact that the month of August falls in the midst of the rainy season in this country;

WHEREAS, in order that this national event may henceforth be celebrated properly without being hampered by bad weather, it becomes necessary that the date of its annual observance be changed;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, MANUEL L. QUEZON, President of the Philippines, do hereby order and proclaim that, beginning with the year nineteen hundred and forty-two, the week from February fourteenth to twentieth, instead of the period designated in proclamation No. 76, shall be observed annually as “Made-in-the-Philippines Products Week.”

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Commonwealth of the Philippines to be affixed.1aшphi1
