Proclamation No. 66

RESERVING AND DESIGNATING AS INITAO FOREST RESERVE FOR FOREST PROTECTION, TIMBER PRODUCTION AND CONSERVATION, THE PARCEL OF THE PUBLIC DOMAIN, SITUATED IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF INITAO, PROVINCE OF MISAMIS ORIENTAL, ISLAND OF MINDANAO.

Upon the recommendation of the Director of Forestry, approved by the Secretary of Agriculture and Commerce, and pursuant to the provisions of section eighteen hundred and twenty-six of Act Numbered twenty-seven hundred and eleven, known as the Revised Administrative Code, I, Manuel L. Quezon, President of the Philippines, hereby establish the Initao Forest Reserve and place it under the administration and control of the Bureau of Forestry, which shall have the authority to regulate the cutting, collection, and removal of timber and other forest products therein in accordance with the Forest Law and Regulations, for forest protection, timber production and conservation, subject to private rights, if any there be, and to any and all rights and privileges of exploration, occupation, purchase, or otherwise granted or reserved to citizens by provisions of the Act of Congress of July first, nineteen hundred and two, known as the Philippine Bill.

I, therefore, withdraw from sale or settlement, except as permitted or provided for in the aforesaid Act of Congress of July first, nineteen hundred and two, and hereby declare and proclaim to be the Initao Forest Reserve that portion of the public domain, situated in the Municipality of Initao, Province of Misamis Oriental, Island of Mindanao, and described in the Bureau of Forestry map No. F. R.-66, to wit:

Beginning at point marked 1 on Bureau of Forestry map No. F. R.-66 an unknown tree, 25 cm. in diameter, identical to corner 2-d of block B, timber land, Misamis Oriental project No. 10, which is N. 13ْ E., about 5,200 meters from the Poblacion, municipality of Initao, Misamis Oriental; thence due South, 180 meters to corner 2, a Ficus sp., 40 cm. diameter, marked 2333/21 at edge of forest; thence due South, 150 meters to corner 3, a bogo tree, 60 cm. in diameter, marked 2333/20 on southern side of provincial road; thence due South, 130 meters to corner 4, a bunglas tree, 40 cm. in diameter, identical to corner 4, a bunglas tree, 40 cm. in diameter, identical to corner 2-c of block B, timber land, Misamis Orental project No. 10; thence due South, 165 meters to corner 5, a malaikmo tree, 45 cm. in diameter, marked 2333/15, at edge of forest; thence S. 22ْ W., 155 meters to corner 6, a dao tree, 40 cm. in diameter, marked 2333/12, at edge of forest; thence S. 12 ْW., 160 meters to corner 7, a kalumpit tree, 50 cm. in diameter, marked 2333/9, at edge of forest; thence S. 45 ْW., 160 meters to corner 8, a carrot tree, 45 cm. in diameter, marked 2333/6, at edge of forest; thence N. 67 ْ W., 65 meters to corner 9, a PLS/BL monument, marked 2333/3, identical to corner 7, of Initao communal forest parcel I amended (old), Misamis Oriental; thence N. 80ْ W., 155 meters to corner 13, a balete tree, 30 sm. In diameter, marked 2333/1, on trail at seacoast; and then following seacoast in general northeasterly direction about 1,320 meters to corner 1, point of beginning.

Corners 1 and 4 were marked with Bureau of Forestry official marking hatchet No. 21.

Containing an area of 57 hectares, more or less.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Commonwealth of the Philippines to be affixed.
