[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 476, August 14, 1991 ]

PLACING THE COMMISSION ON POPULATION UNDER THE NATIONAL ECONOMIC AND DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY

WHEREAS, under Executive Order No. 408, dated June 18, 1990, the Commission on Population was placed under the control and supervision of the Office of the President;

WHEREAS, in order to facilitate coordination of policies and programs relative to population, it is now deemed necessary to attach the Commission on Population to the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA);

WHEREAS, Book III, Title III, Chapter 10, Section 31(3), of the Administrative Code of 1987 authorizes the President to "[T]ransfer any agency under the Office of the President to any other department or agency as well as transfer agencies to the Office of the President from other departments or agencies";

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order:

Section 1. The Commission on Population is hereby attached to the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA)

Section 2. This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.
