EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 449 March 4, 1991

LIFTING THE PRICE CEILINGS OF CERTAIN PRIME AND ESSENTIAL COMMODITIES IN AREAS AFFECTED BY THE JULY 16, 1990 EARTHQUAKE AND TYPHOON RUPING IMPOSED PURSUANT TO EXECUTIVE ORDERS NOS. 414 AND 436, SERIES OF 1990

WHEREAS, the marketing and distribution of certain prime and essential commodities in the areas affected by the July 16, 1990 earthquake and Typhoon "Ruping" have already normalized due to the completed repair of roads and bridges which were damaged by said calamities;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order:

Sec. 1. Executive Order No. 414 dated July 19, 1990 and Executive Order No. 436 dated November 22, 1990 are hereby revoked. Accordingly, the price ceilings of certain prime and essential commodities imposed pursuant to the said Executive Orders are hereby lifted.

Sec. 2. All cases and apprehensions which arose from the implementation of Executive Orders Nos. 414 and 436 shall continue to be litigated.

Sec. 3. This Executive order shall take effect immediately upon publication in a national newspaper of general circulation.
