EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 256 January 1, 1988

INCREASING THE DAILY SUBSISTENCE ALLOWANCE OF PATIENTS CONFINED IN AFP/INP HOSPITALS AND DISPENSARIES, CADETS OF THE PHILIPPINE MILITARY ACADEMY, THE PHILIPPINE AIR FORCE FLYING SCHOOL AND THE PHILIPPINE NATIONAL POLICE ACADEMY, AND AFP/INP PERSONNEL UNDERGOING TRAINING IN LOCAL TRAINING INSTITUTIONS

WHEREAS, Executive Order No. 1015, dated March 22, 1985, provides that the rate of subsistence allowance or patients confined in AFP/INP hospitals and dispensaries and of cadets of the Philippine Military Academy, the Philippine Air Force Flying School and the Philippine National Police Academy shall not be less than Twenty Pesos (P20.00) per day;

WHEREAS, Executive Order No. 1049, dated August 8, 1985, provides that the rate of subsistence allowance of AFP and INP personnel undergoing training in local training institutions shall not be less than Twenty Pesos (P20.00) per day;

WHEREAS, due to the general increase in the prices of commodities the daily subsistence allowance of Twenty Pesos (P20.00) is no longer adequate to meet the quality and quantity of their food requirements;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, do hereby order:

Sec. 1. The subsistence allowance of patients confined in AFP/INP hospitals and dispensaries and of cadets of the PMA, PAFFS, and PNPA shall be Thirty Pesos (P30.00) per day.

Sec. 2. The subsistence allowance of AFP and INP personnel undergoing training in local training institutions shall be Thirty Pesos (P30.00) per day.

Sec. 3. The funds necessary to carry out the provisions of this Order shall be incorporated in the CY 1988 Annual Appropriations of the AFP and INP.

Sec. 4. The Secretary of National Defense and the Chairman of the National Police Commission, respectively, shall issue implementing instructions as are necessary and proper to carry out the intent of this Order.

Sec. 5. All rules and regulations and other issuances or parts thereof that are in conflict with this Executive Order are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.

Sec. 6. This Executive Order shall take effect on January 1, 1988.
