[ ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 78, September 27, 1938 ]

CREATING A COMMONWEALTH TRIUMPHAL ARCH COMMITTEE

Pursuant to the provisions of section 1 of Commonwealth Act No. 393, there is hereby created and constituted a committee to be known as the Commonwealth Triumphal Arch Committee. The Committee herein created shall be composed of the following members who shall serve without compensation:

Hon. Jorge B. Vargas, Chairman

Mr. Antonio Toledo, Member

Hon. Juan Posadas, Member

Hon. Hermenegildo Atienza, Member

Mr. Pedro Franco, Member

Mr. Fernando Sison, Member.

Mr. Juan Quintos, Member

Mr. Gil Puyat, Member, and

Mr. Patrocinio Valenzuela, Member and Secretary

The Committee shall take charge of the work relative to the erection of the Commonwealth Triumphal Arch, including the determination of an appropriate design for the Arch, the selection of the most adequate site in the City of Manila in which to erect the same, and the expenditure of the funds appropriated therefor. The Committee is hereby authorized to appoint and organize as many subcommittees as may be necessary to enable said Committee to carry out the work entrusted to it.1âшphi1 The Committee shall meet at such times and places as may be designated by its Chairman and shall submit its report and recommendations to the President at the earliest practicable date.
