RESOLUTION No. 6455

REQUEST FOR THE CONCURRENCE OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES IN THE DEPUTATION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF NATIONAL DEFENSE AND THE ARMED FORCES OF THE PHILIPPINES, THE DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT INCLUDING THE NATIONAL POLICE COMMISSION AND THE PHILIPPINE NATIONAL POLICE, AND OTHER LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES FOR THE PURPOSE OF ENSURING FREE, ORDERLY, HONEST, PEACEFUL AND CREDIBLE CONDUCT OF THE MAY 10, 2004 NATIONAL AND LOCAL ELECTIONS.

WHEREAS, in the interest of free, orderly, honest, peaceful and credible conduct of the national and local elections on May 10, 2004, the Commission on Elections finds it necessary to deputize law enforcement agencies and instrumentalities of government including the Armed Forces of the Philippines;

WHEREAS, under Section 2, (4) C, Article IX of the Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines, such deputation requires the concurrence of the President of the Republic of the Philippines;

NOW, THEREFORE, the Commission on Elections RESOLVES, to request, as it hereby requests, the concurrence of the President of the Republic of the Philippines in the deputation of the Department of National Defense and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) including the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the National Police Commission, in connection with the May 10, 2004 National and Local Elections. lªvvph¡1.ñét

The Executive Director is hereby directed to furnish Her Excellency, the President of the Republic of the Philippines through the Honorable Executive Secretary, Malacañang Palace, Manila, a copy of this Resolution.
