RESOLUTION No. 6389

IN THE MATTER OF IMPLEMENTING PARTIAL AUTOMATION IN THE COMING MAY 10, 2004 ELECTIONS

Promulgated: 28 October 2003

WHEREAS, the Commission in line with its Modernization Program has obtained Automated Counting Machines (ACMs) with its vision and goal of going full automation this coming May 10' 2004 elections;

WHEREAS, a number of these machines (ACMs) have undergone a thorough and rigid testing to insure its accuracy in the counting of ballots and giving fast results of the elections;

WHEREAS, after a series of testing in various quarters and fora of the government, the Commission in consultation with the members of Congress, has decided to impleh1ent partial automation only this coming May 10' 2004 elections;

WHEREAS, the Commission in close coordination with its field officials has identified areas in the country where partial automation will be implemented;

WHEREFORE, the Commission RESOLVED, as it hereby RESOLVES, to implement selected implementation in the following areas:

1. National Capital Region,

2. Five (5) provinces namely: Cebu, Iloilo, Negros Occidental, Rizal and Pampanga,

3. ARMM including the cities of Isabela and Cotabatolªvvph¡1.ñét

4. Chartered Cities of Baguio, Bacolod; Iloilo and Cagayan de Oro.

Let the Executive Director and the Education and Information Department implement this resolution.
